Decommissioning Management and Leadership for Safety Education

Project Duration

January 2023 – December 2026

What is DMaLSE?

The DMaLSE Project (Decommissioning Management and Leadership for Safety Education) is an educational initiative designed to develop management competencies and safety leadership in Nuclear Decommissioning Projects (NDPs).

This research-driven programme equips early- and mid-career managers with the necessary skills to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in decommissioning projects.

Why DMaLSE?

Addressing a Growing Industry Need

With an increasing number of nuclear facilities reaching the end of their operational life, nuclear decommissioning is becoming more prevalent. These projects require more than technical expertise—they demand strong leadership, risk management, and strategic planning to uphold safety and operational excellence.

DMaLSE provides a pioneer training that integrates human and organisational factors to mitigate risks and ensure the highest safety standards in complex decommissioning projects.
