What is SENSSEtt?
SENSSEtt is a pioneering capacity-building initiative dedicated to advancing nuclear safety and safeguards through High-Quality Education, Executive Training Programmes, and Expert Tutoring Programmes.
Designed for graduates, professionals, and early- to mid-career managers, SENSSEtt supports those working in nuclear facility operations, regulatory bodies, and safeguards organisations.
Through cutting-edge training programmes, SENSSEtt strengthens global nuclear safety and safeguards, ensuring professionals gain essential leadership, management, and regulatory expertise necessary for safe nuclear operations.
Capacity Building in Nuclear Safety and Safeguards:
A Collaborative EU Co-Funded Initiative
SENSSEtt consolidates three key EU co-funded projects—ELSE, DMaLSE, and SaTE—under the EU-INSC Instrument to support global Capacity-Building efforts in nuclear safety and safeguards.
Its executive training programmes are primarily available to professionals from:
- EU Member States candidates
- EU Neighbourhood countries
- Countries under the International Nuclear Safety Cooperation (INSC), except for five non-signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Additionally, the programmes are accessible to all IAEA member states, fostering international collaboration and capacity-building within both the nuclear industry and regulatory institutions.
Building Expertise in Nuclear Safety and Safeguards Management
SENSSEtt focuses on developing leadership, management expertise in:
- Nuclear Operations (NO)
- Nuclear Decommissioning Projects (NDPs)
- Nuclear Safeguards (NS)

Developing Open Access Learning Resources
Designing and launching an interdisciplinary, modular MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) to broaden the reach of nuclear safety education.
Disseminating Pedagogical Excellence in Safety and Safeguards
Showcasing and distributing managerial and leadership tools, resources, and materials for Nuclear Safety and Safeguards.
Strengthening Expertise Networks
Expanding the SENSSEtt Academics and Experts Network to continuously uphold pedagogical excellence and foster capacity building.

Who is involved?
Advisory Board– in Nuclear Safety and Safeguards
The SENSSEtt Advisory Board, chaired by Jacques Repussard Conseil, comprises twelve esteemed experts from Nuclear Operators, Regulatory Bodies, and Technical Safety Organisations. It ensures the quality, relevance, and integrity of SENSSEtt’s educational programmes by providing strategic oversight and aligning them with industry and educational standards.
